Just Starting

How active do I need to be?

For general good health adults need to be active for at least 30 minutes on five or more days a week. You can reach this by shorter sessions of activity in 10 minute blocks or all in one session.

The level of activity needs to be “moderate”. This means your breathing and heart rate will increase slightly and you will feel warmer. You should still be able to hold a conversation.

There are lots of free things you can do indoors or outdoors depending on how you live your life and it's easier than you think.

Just 30 minutes or more a day will get you moving towards a healthier life.

And, don't forget you don't have to do it all in one go - take time to build up and fit it activity into the other things you have to do.
